Red, white, green, black, silver, gold, sequins, fur, scarves, boots, repeat.

What are your go to outfits during the holiday season?? I know I have a million dreamy outfits in my mind but getting to wear them is always another thing. We live in a city that typically has few cooler much less cold days during the holiday season so it can limit what my heart wants to wear.

I was born desiring to live in a northern state, I swear it. Life decisions have yet to take me there though so here I am living out my holidays in a balmy 80 degree December day - in a very festive shirt I might add!

I was thinking through the items I own and the items I would LOVE to own if I could wear them and thought I’d go ahead and share my dream closet for December. It’s 2020 so I feel like we all have gotten used to dreaming this year, right? Kind of like I have been dreaming of visiting Tennessee to see my family or dreaming of traveling anywhere/out of the country again but instead count my blessings when I go to eat at a restaurant. It’s the little things!

OK…so on to SEVEN fun outfits for December!

Outfit 1: I just love fun & festive shirts! This shirt “Making Spirits Bright” is my color (grey) yet has bright colors I wouldn’t normally wear combined with gold sequins along the v-neck collar. I am in heaven. I ordered it in a small and it fits much better than the medium I ordered in my “Pumpkin Queen” shirt last month (I was worried about the fit as the boutique was new to me).

It pairs well with black jeans, regular jeans (all jeans), and leggings. It’s longer in length so it pretty much covers the bum.

Outfit 2: A pretty jumpsuit - in any festive color!

I have a few, one in red and two in black, and just love them. I bought them 2+ years ago but they’re classic in style and I get compliments each time. I think the main thing it to get a flattering design that compliments your body but isn’t too risqué and then it stands the test of time. Dress it up with jewelry and a nice (or sequined) blazer and it’s even more festive!

This Lulu’s “Paint the Town” strapless jumpsuit I adore so much. It’s a tried and true for two years for me and it’s still a hit which tells you something!

This red halter jumpsuit I also have in black and despite the fact that I have zero decent pictures of me in them, I will still boast that you should find something similar. It’s not available right now but there are plenty just as stunning and comfortable. I make a point to look at the model height and heel height in every pic/description to gauge if I will need alterations and then assess if the outfit is worth the price to me.

Outfit: Red & Merry

It’s so easy to pair a red top with anything and feel festive! My favorites are red tops with embellishments of some kind (this one comes in SIX colors) with any kind of jeans or slacks. Add in some black booties and earrings…easy peasy.

Outfit 4: Festive plaid ~ always classic, always festive, always welcomed.

Cotten Sateen Pencil Skirt // Three Tiered Tartan Midi // Snowy Stewart Tartan // Amazon Red Plaid Mini

ON White Ankle Pants // ON Forest Canopy Ankle Pants // Express High Waisted Pants (these are also available in forest green & red!)

Outfit 7: Velvet is so luxurious and perfect for the holidays!

Express Velvet Bow Top // Express Velvet Bodysuit (comes in 3 colors)

Express Velvet Midi Dress (comes in 3 colors) // Express Velvet Sheath (comes in 2 colors)

Kicking off the merriment…

Fave Christmas drink.jpg

Mine is definitely NOT eggnog. ;) I can take sips of it but after making it from scratch umpteen times I can’t bring myself to drink it. Too many calories & sugar!

I tend to indulge on (sugar free) peppermint mocha coffee creamer and in the evenings I stick to champagne or wine during the holidays. Something about Christmas makes me want to drink more champagne and my favorite it Veuve Clicquot.

Do you have any favorite holiday drinks? I think of cinnamon & peppermint, hot chocolate & marshmallows…

I hope you all have a wonderful rest of the day!

‘Tis the season,

XOXO
