Hello there, friends!

Summer is slowly winding down this month and I have all of the fall things on my mind, except it’s 102 degrees outside right now. Recently I went out of town and enjoyed a pool and lazy river which definitely helped beat the heat. What I realized is that I have hardly worn any of my coverups this season and so I took a look back at an old post from early 2021 and found that many of the ones I wore on this trip or almost brought are still available!

This means one thing. Do you know what it is? END OF SEASON SALES are near.

Yup. It’s time to consider what you may have wanted but not needed earlier this year that may be on sale now or very soon. Let’s take a look at my list of swimsuits and coverups from this year.

*All of these photos are from our home two houses ago! I can’t seem to find many updated photos with my coverups.

SWIMSUITS

I also decided to try the Seafolly Essential Tube Top swimsuit top I’ve eyeballed for a couple of years. It was just OK for me. Tube top swimsuits are tricky because you need them to be tight to stay up, but then it’s annoying getting it off and on. And ultimately I erred on the side of annoying and returned it because I don’t want to rub off my self tanner.

And I’ve previously ordered a beautiful one piece BECCA swimsuit but returned it also because my torso is oddly long and it just didn’t fit well.

Apparently I do not have luck with expensive swimwear, which is OK because I really do not like to spend a lot on swimwear or coverups because:

  1. They are exposed to sunscreen and chlorine chemicals.

  2. Think of all the times you’ve sat on the side of the pool or tubed down a slide or even slid down a water slide…your bottoms will get snagged.

  3. Bodies change, styles change, and preferences change. For instance, the last couple of years I started wearing one pieces or swim skirts for more modesty. This summer I’ve worn high waisted bikini bottoms again.

  • OLD NAVY: So then…I went back to my usual tried and true Old Navy swimsuits. For me their quality is exactly what I need, I never have a problem, and they’re priced just right! I cannot find a single top or bottom that I purchased (sizes all sold out) and they now have some different styles available to peruse. Generally speaking though, I really like their swimsuits to mix and match.

  • TARGET: I have also occasionally purchased a separate swim top or bottom from Target in the past. Their pricing and styles are usually great for my preferences.

  • WALMART: I ran into Walmart recently to get distilled water for our steamer and as I passed by the women’s section this Time and Tru wide strap swim top stood out to me and it was the only one AND it was my size. WINNING. I didn’t see the coordinating bottoms but I wouldn’t have gotten them because I like my black high waisted bottoms. BUT, isn’t this pattern so pretty!? The wide straps will not be ideal for tanning obviously but since I don’t really ever sit out in the sun even at the beach (I stay in the shade with sunscreen on!) it won’t really matter. Y’all. I adore this swim top! (This is the only pic I have in it.

  • Amazon: I have acquired a few swimsuits/swim bottoms from Amazon that I really like and rotate in frequently. They all ran true to size.

-The Tempt Me high neck one piece I’m wearing in the cover up section below has been a common favorite shared every year on many sites. It has a ruched middle, a mesh v-neckline, and lined cups. It comes in about 40 colors depending on the size you choose.

-The Hilor shirred ruffle skirted bikini bottom is SO CUTE and flattering. I like that it covers the bum but has shape to it and is high waisted. I’ve worn this a lot. It comes in 8 colors.

-The Alove high waisted split swim skirt is also one I have gotten a lot of use out of. It’s also flattering and adds modesty when needed. It comes in 14 colors.

COVERUPS

1) This O’Neill - Miranda dress. It has sold out again and again because it is loved that much. You can add your email to be notified when it’s back in stock on Lulu’s, but I also found it on the O’Niell site and it’s available. One reviewer even said she wore a sweater over it with booties in the fall/spring. That’s a neat idea that I certainly hadn’t thought of! I do think it’s cute paired with a jean jacket too.

2) This Lulu’s - Seaside Retreat cover up. It is available in four color options and is so bright and fun! I wore this coverup on this past trip and still love it every bit as much as I did two years ago. There’s a reason why it’s still available!

3) This “goddess kimono” stole my heart years ago and is no longer available except for on Poshmark for $32 or on some random boutique site based out of Ohio for $240!!! WHAT?? That’s insane and you better believe I certainly did not spend anything like that on this originally. I’m sharing it still because I do think it’s that beautiful, it’s one size fits all, and I almost wore in on this past trip but I let the bday girl borrow for the pool. I would suggest snagging the only one available on Poshmark!!

Here are some additional CUTE kimonos that would be perfect for the beach but also can be worn over jean or shorts.

4) This Midas gold sheer maxi coverup is on final sale at Lulu’s. This is another that sold out in 2019 and then they brought it back. It is beautiful! Shamefully I do not have a photo of me wearing it except for sitting down many moons ago.

Here are some other sheer options that are really cute!

5) This Amazon - Sheer Sarong Skirt. It comes in 18 color options in the long skirt. I’ve typically paired it with a one piece but it works great with a bikini as well.

Here’s a few more options that I like for sarongs.

Some other Amazon cover ups that I’ve had my eye on should I eventually need to replace mine are:

This comes in 35 color options!

This one comes in 8 colors and reminds me of a black lace coverup I use all the time from Lulu’s that’s no longer available but I get compliments on from women every time I wear it.

I actually own this one and I like that it sort of bands around the waist to give it a little shape. It comes in 16 colors.

We tend to travel to tropical places in the winter so that it’s still hot at the beach but a tolerable temperature unlike the summer months! That means I tend to look for swimwear off season. 🤷‍♀️🤣 Do you have any beach vacations planned throughout the end of the year too?

Wishing everyone a great rest of the day!

XOXO
