Fall Home Tour 2023

Hey there, friends!

I hope you had a FUN Halloween! We had a ton of Trick-or-Treaters and handed out candy in our front yard along with my mom, her bestie, my brother in law, and my mother in law. It was a fun night.

I’m very late to do this, but thought I’d give you an actual fall / Halloween décor home tour! Since I’ve been sharing bits of our new items on my LTK page and we’re past the holiday, I won’t bother linking anything in this post. But, you can always scope out what I shared on LTK if you really like it and see if it’s available AND / OR pin this to Pinterest for next year so you can see if it’s available then!

Welcome to our fall / Halloween home!

We’ve added Halloween decor to our front yard this year because we want to keep up with the Joneses. In all seriousness, we know this neighborhood and our specific street is known to have a lot of trick-or-treaters so we wanted to ramp up our Halloween festiveness. I even caved and purchased a life-size skeleton.

At first I put out our general fall wreath, but once I remembered to go hunting for our “autumn” wreath that is brightly colored, I decided to switch them out earlier than normal. The general fall wreath I used to put out on Sept. 1st and then switch to the “autumn” brightly colored wreath on Oct. 1st. Then our new front door arrived and thankfully the wreath shows up a little better with less wood behind it.

Because our front door is black I opted to hang our coordinated “gothic skull” wreath on the door on the inside of the house.

I added one pumpkin to the powder bathroom along with a pumpkin soap container. I didn’t want to move things out of there that I had just* finalized and this little fall touch was enough for me this year.

Our front, formal sitting room will forever be my favorite room in our house year round. I had just* gotten the decor how I wanted it when it was time to pull out the fall and Halloween décor. I ordered new Halloween decorations to coordinate with the colors of the room and couldn’t have been more pleased!

The paint color is Benjamin Moore Racoon Fur - it is a blue-ish, gray-ish black depending upon the lighting. The one photo with the candles unlit is the accurate color. The lighting of the other images make the walls look more black than it is in real life.

Our Halloween Decor

I continued the flow of Halloween with the “gothic skull” urn fillers into the formal dining area on either side of the bay windows. This room is a simple mix of new and older fall / Halloween items.

Our foyer area is minimal on decor but has a splash of fall / Halloween. Perhaps next year I’ll add to this area. At the time of these photos, our wine room had not been completed so I just put an extra wreath that I had on the handle and went on with my life. 😁

Our bar / butler’s pantry area and the vestibule area that looks into it was a tricky place for me. I wasn’t sure what to do and ended up with this assortment of Halloween things I’ve had and a couple of dollar store items. Perhaps next year I’ll have more ideas of what would go better where.

In the kitchen I opted to keep the fall / Halloween decorations to a bare minimum. I didn’t want to clutter up the counters and since everything is white, adding in decor felt like too much of a pop of color. I switched out the faux lambs ear for the burgundy fall mum stems I previously used in my mother in law’s room that I decorated in her colors (red!). Other than that I literally only put out a pumpkin spoon rest and an old fall candle holder. 😁

I fully decorated our console table that leads from the vestibule to the den. This is viewable from the open kitchen area as well. We had this console in the entryway foyer at our previous house so I am used to decorating it for the holidays.

There are other pops of fall throughout the den, but subtle.

This year I opted not to add any fall decor to the guest bedrooms upstairs, but did add some to my office/gym since this is where I spend a majority of my day when I am home.

Well that sums up our fall and Halloween home tour! This was a year of transition with moving into this home and we’re still tackling some (never ending) renovation items, but we’ve come a long way since we started renovating and also since we moved in. In time I will show you more of our home, but for now I hope these little snippets are a treat. 🤍
