Friday Favorites - March 27th, 2020

Hello friends!

I hope you all have had a HEALTHY and low key week working from home and social distancing.

I suspect it has not been an easy week for everyone, but I PRAY from the bottom of my heart and with all of my heart that you and your family and friends have not been affected by the Covid-19 virus. I know I stand with you in saying my heart breaks and my brain is stunned to see the numbers rise every day. God bless and protect the health care providers, first responders, police, firemen, military, and politicians who are working around the clock to help everyone right now.

It is Friday again and since I’m home bound so much now with about 30% more time to actually sit at my computer, I thought I would at least provide you all with some reading material. I can’t say this post was inspired by any means, but rather a random finds type of post.

So - I am linking up today to share some random finds for your Friday amusement…

Easy dresses.

Right now I am wearing essentially nothing but athleisure/work out attire because I am not leaving the house! Which…I hope is the same for all of you…not leaving the house that is.

If I leave the house it is to exercise with or without the hubs, and with or without the pups.

However, in my mind I am envisioning wearing the spring and summer attire that I own or that I want to procure such as this dress. How cute is this dress??? It reminds me of my friend, Rachel. She would order it in white, of course. =)

*Disclaimer* - I have not tried on this dress and I do not own it. I am shopping online remotely because stores are closed. ;)

Siete Foods.

I know I have mentioned this brand before and I love that they’re from South Texas (I think I read Austin at some point, but I could be very wrong). I came across them somehow, somewhere, and I don’t remember when… My first order was on Amazon before I realized I could find them in my neighborhood HEB as well as plenty of other stores including the ones in Tennessee when I would visit family.

Grain free. Gluten free. Paleo (most of it). Convenient.

Y’all. I have done the laborious work of making my own grain free tortillas out of every ingredient you can fathom. I have made my own root vegetable chips. I have made my own Spiralized veggie noodles. I have riced those veggie noodles by knife and later by food processor. I’ve done it all.

So, when I came across this brand that adheres to dietary preferences that I have, I was elated. It’s well worth the pretty penny to me and my husband to buy these versus me spend the time and effort. We LOVE them. They have: tortillas, chips, hot sauce, and dairy free queso.

If you’re doing Whole 30, Paleo, Vegan, Gluten Free, etc. this brand is sure to have something for you. If you cannot find it at your local store you can order directly from them and/or Amazon.

Mascara.

I have been getting lash extensions for a little over two years now. I’ve considered stopping anywhere between 1358 to 7648397262 times. There’s just never really a good time to let them fall out and let your natural lashes grow back properly (if needed) because we always have a gagillion events.

Well a little over a month ago, yours truly came across this mascara on Good Housekeeping. I had been considering ordering the Thrive mascara but hadn’t committed to the price nor the allotted time required to let my lashes fill back in. When I got this helpful tip from Good Housekeeping I decided to try it just in case a time period EXACTLY like this was to come to the US. I am so glad I did.

Mind you, I have three week old lashes currently that are doing all kinds of wonky stuff. One eye has 1/2 the lashes remaining as the other and the “shape” looks like two different sets of eyes. Oh-vey.

Anyway, I have busted out this mascara daily this past week to add in and touch up anything/everything that I can to just help my face not look like the horror scene it has become. The reviews are correct in that it is not water proof, but I haven’t had any smudges throughout the (hot and humid Houston) day so I call that a win!

Working out at home or being active outside keeping a SAFE distance distance from others.

We’ve been on the go every evening taking a walk with the doggies, going for a run, and riding our bikes. I tend to get my work outs in at home on our treadmill and using our free weights as well, but I am loving this slower pace of my day that the quarantine has brought us.

I came across a great list from Good Housekeeping with over 25 fitness studios and gyms offering free online work outs right now. Take a look at this list if you’re in need of a way to exercise with the gyms closed.

There are also a lot of gym-less work outs you can find online (like on Pinterest). I just found four of mine that I laminated to take on trips with me many years ago. It helps to change things up a bit!

ZOOM. FaceTime. What’s App video chat. And Skype.

Have you ever been so grateful for these apps as you are now? I just got off FaceTime with my Mammaw and I love that I can see her beautiful face to talk when I can’t even consider a trip to Tennessee to see her right now. I am having a ZOOM happy hour with some of my besties tonight as well.

Everyone who knows me knows I am not a phone person by any means. But, to be able to see each other right now is so uplifting for the spirit.

That sums it up for me this week! Have you stumbled across anything new and fun this week? Do you have any good book suggestions?

I hope you all have a safe & fun weekend at home. I’m keeping everyone in prayer.

XOXO
