Hello friends! I hope your week is going well so far and that you are thinking what I’m thinking. We made it to mid-September! Now, I have a confession to make…I actually decorated for fall before the 15th like I had planned to do and I am not ashamed to say that I am glad I didn’t wait after all.

I had picked up a couple of new fall signs for my front entry table and truth be told I had to put them up right away to confirm my choices worked well and then I just couldn’t stop myself. So I decorated a week early and I am glad because in October I will switch over to the few Halloween things that I have (and/or may acquire this year) and then back to fall on November 1st for a couple of more weeks.

I just LOVE the holidays!

I thought I’d give you a little fall tour of our home as it is different than last year. Some items ended up in new places. Some new items ended up in old places. Some items ended up in the same place(s). ;) Plus, I love to see other people’s homes and how they decorate!

Here we go!

  1. My entry way console has been my newest obsession as I’ve been moving things around recently. I fell in love with this console when we bought it last year, but had not realized it’s full potential until I decided to move the 30 picture frames off of it.

PS - got these on sale or with coupons…no need to pay full price!

PPS - any suggestions on how to hide those pesky cords?

2. This year I decorated our formal dining room table differently because I used the garland for the fireplace mantel in our den instead, and used the table centerpieces I bought 2 years ago (for our 12 foot outdoor dining table) on our formal dining room table. I may move the extra pumpkins around or take them off, but I tend to arrange and rearrange over the course of a week as I let my eyes adjust. I don’t know that I am 100% happy with this set up, but am trying to work with what we have. #workinprogress

3. I added some pumpkins to candle holders as I shifted things off of the usual table-scape. You can see some poking over the picture frames of a new console we got for the formal dining room specifically to hold half of the umpteen photos we had on the entry way console. These tables are works in progress as we just got this console and shifted everything around, but for now this is how it looks.

4. The formal living room is a mixture of the decor we had last year either moved around or in the same place.

5. The den is also a mixture of items we had in years passed either in the same place or moved around.

6. Our front door usually has the fall wreath that I made years ago, but I decided to buy this harvest wreath I have wanted for two years from Grandin Road called “McAllister”. This will be my harvest wreath until I put up our Halloween wreath, and then we will use the fall wreath that I made for the month of November. =)))

PS - this wreath doesn’t go on sale. I waited for a discount to apply to it and it never did and then it would be sold out. I am so happy we got it this year! The hubs really like it too.

That wraps it up for now! I may move this around as the holidays approach. Do you do that too? It’s kind of like decorating a Christmas tree. You can walk by it and notice something is out of place and shift it around a little bit.

When do you start decorating? What gets you motivated and in the fall spirit?

You can see last year’s decorating here.

Linking up with Emily and Sarah.

XOXO
