Hi everyone! I hope your week is going well so far!

I don’t know about you, but those of us in Houston are rejoicing that we’re getting a cool front and it just feels so FALL, it feels so magical, it feels so right.

This is the perfect time to begin talking about all-things-fall and if you’re anything like me, you’re elated to embrace this time of year. Did you know that the autumnal equinox is on September 22nd this year?

“The Autumn Equinox is the first day of the autumn season and occurs when the sun passes the equator moving from the northern to the southern hemisphere. The North Pole begins to tilt away from the sun. Day and night have approximately the same length.” GOOD TO KNOW, right? Apparently on this day the northern hemisphere shifts into fall and the southern hemisphere shifts into spring. We’re learning something new today, friends. While I know I have learned this in the past, it definitely got tucked back into the deep, dark, dusty, cob-web filled pits of my brain.

I think I love Fall (1).png

That being said, let’s move along into fall scents. I’m sharing my favorites today!

First and foremost, I am all about spice, cinnamon, and pumpkin scents most of the year but especially in the fall.

  1. I recently ordered some Scentsy products and immediately started using the “First Day of Fall” scent. It’s divine. It literally makes me feel like I walked into Hobby Lobby or Michael’s during this season. It’s description reads: JUST-PICKED PUMPKIN, a breath of AUTUMN WOODS, GROUND NUTMEG and a spicy DASH OF CINNAMON. It might as well read: REBECCA in FALL.

  2. I am eager to use the Scentsy scent bar “Pumpkin Cinnamon Swirl” next! Even without having melted it yet, the smell just takes me somewhere magical in my mind. It’s description reads: Fresh pumpkin garnished with cinnamon stick and a dollop of whipped icing.

  3. Bath & Body Works “Leaves” candle. I had this last year and enjoyed it so much. It sort of broke us out of the continued pumpkin spice scents by adding in the apple scent that I do not normally gravitate towards. This combo is a win though! It reads: Crisp Red Apple, Golden Nectar, Warm Clove Spice with Essential Oils

  4. Bath & Body Works “Pumpkin Clove” candle. While some pumpkin scented candles can smell good at first sniff, they can become icky sweet when you burn the candle longer than a few minutes. This one works for me. The fragrance description reads: Clove Buds, Ground Cinnamon, A Pinch of Nutmeg, Fresh Pumpkin with Essential Oils.

  5. DIY stovetop trick: simmer a pot of water with cinnamon sticks, cloves, orange peel, and other fun spices and you have yourself a natural way to make your home smell good!

  6. Fall scented candles from Home Goods, Marshalls, or TJ Maxx. These stores are the easiest place to grab fall scented anything. I’ve enjoyed many a Yankee or DW Home candle from these stores. One that I really like that isn’t necessarily fall, but is a heavier/musky scent is the DW Home “Santal Musk”.

I have not dabbled with essential oils in any way yet, but I found these listed as fall scents for them.

Best fall essential oils:

  • Bergamot.

  • Black Pepper.

  • Cardamom.

  • Cedarwood.

  • Cinnamon Bark.

  • Cypress.

  • Eucalyptus Globulus.

  • Juniper.

What are your favorite scents for fall? What candles, oils, or waxes do you use as a seasonal scent for your home? Do you use the DIY/natural scents or the store bought kinds? I’m interested to learn new methods especially since I usually use fall scents until I decorate for Christmas in mid-November. ;)

Linking up with Emily and Sarah.

Happy Fall, Y’all!

XOXO
