TGIF, y’all!

I woke up super excited that it’s Friday, today. Not for any real reason though other than we’re one week closer to cooler weather. ;) The hubs is traveling this weekend and I will be productive at home. I always enjoy this time to knock out projects and things that may need to accidentally disappear when the hubby isn’t around. =))) Anybody else do that, too? I am sure I’m not alone…

OK! So, I am linking up today to share some of my RANDOM recent favorite things with you.

Favorite #1

Work leggings.

I haven’t shopped for work attire in a while and am procuring a few items to have just in case I need to go into the office at any point, or simply want to wear slacks of any kind at any point to dinners or events. I’m more of a dress kind of gal because it hides my thighs better (to be honest) and they are my least favorite part of my body. *No need for reassurance here, I’m only stating my truth.*

Well, I stumbled upon these work leggings and thought I’d just try them yet fully expecting to hate them and return them.

I don’t hate them. I love them. So comfortable! The material is thick and I don’t think it looks like I’m wearing actual leggings. Now, I will more than likely plan to wear something longer to cover my rear just because I tend to do that anyway but they’re very flattering.

They come in six different colors and in petite sizes, but I will say that in person I thought only the gray texture (shown below) and the houndstooth looked appropriate for work. The other colors just looked like nice leggings, but not material for work.

Apt. 9 Ponte Leggings Regular // Petite Length

I am wearing a regular length, folded under. I am 5’4” and should have gotten the petite size, but didn’t realize they had them! But, you can’t tell they’re folded up anyway.

Self tanning lotion.

I am really making an effort to reduce the amount of chemicals/toxins in my home, but I will admit there are some things I can’t live without. Tanning lotion is one of them.

I have been a HUGE fan of St. Tropez Self Tan Express tanning lotion and have mentioned it before to y’all. It’s the real deal. However, I have recently began using Jergens Natural Glow + Firming Daily Moisturizer as a daily lotion (or as often as I remember it). It smells SO good, creates a great base color that not overdone or orange at all, and doesn’t give an odd smell as the color develops. I’ve been thrilled to have this to use in between when I do a full tanning application with St. Tropez.

Self expression.

I know tattoos are not for everyone and that everyone has varying opinions on them. So, if you’re a person who doesn’t like them then you can skip ahead to #4!

InkBox Tattoos.

I came across this company in my Pinterst feed and eyeballed them for a couple of months before I decided to give them a try. I am SO glad I did.

Why? Because, I was dabbling with the idea of getting another tattoo.

There are thousands to choose from and I picked three that were closest to a type of tattoo that I would get. They each lasted about a week for me but the site says they can last up to two weeks. I was working out everyday so with the amount of sweat they endured I am not surprised mine lasted a week.

The verdict? It’s a fun way to try out tattoos before ever considering getting a real one. For me, it solidified that the locations on my body I was considering are a no-go after all. As much as I love them on everyone that I see them on, I learned that I do not like tattoos on those locations for me. GOOD TO KNOW!

My white wireless keyboard.

My desk area, affectionately known as The Command Center, is officially a work in progress. I just shared what my space looked like in a recent blog post and then all of a sudden I am working again and changing desk.

Since my desk is white, I really wanted everything on it to be white. Well, apparently that is a nearly impossible task unless you have a Mac. However, I found the ONE and ONLY white wireless keyboard in stock at my local Best Buy (at that time) and I love it. I wanted to test out the feel of the keys before buying it, which is why I didn’t order a random keyboard online. Luckily for me, this one is absolutely PERFECT for my fingers and typing style.

I may show y’all my new work station once it’s officially done being set up. ;)

Redecorating.

Our entry way console table and our bathroom got a little pick me up recently.

I have moved tables around three times in the last year and we ended up purchasing this one from Kirkland’s sometime last year. It’s currently sold out online, but may come back in stock. It is so pretty in person and I like that it has a slight distressed look.

We previously had a ton of picture frames displayed on the old table and they naturally migrated to this new table until last week when I cleared it off and moved those frames to a new console table that I ordered for our dining room. I’ll show that beauty later on once I figure out what to hang above it.

So now, I am thrilled with our entry way. I purchased the “It is well with my soul” sign from Hobby Lobby when it was half off and found the ceramic vase and faux stems there as well. The faux stems are aching for pumpkins to be added and felt like the perfect gateway to fall.

I need to figure out how to hide those cords…

In our bathroom, I have felt like the wall above the toilet needed something on it and also disliked having stuff sitting on the back lid of the toilet. I finally came across this three tiered shelf that I liked and ordered it. I liked this one because of the metal bars that support the shelves whereas other floating shelves I’ve tried in the past fall off the wall. I ordered mine on Zulilly and they’re no longer available there, but you can find them at Walmart.com.

I picked up a few decor items from Hobby Lobby and ta-da! We both really like the addition.
