Hi Friends,

I hope you’re all doing well!

I’m taking a little twist and turn from my usual blog posts to bring to you all of the items I have been ordering in the past couple of years for the near and dear to my heart - the precious elderly ladies in my life. Between my husband and I, we have four little ladies in our life ranging from 87 years old to almost 96 years old. As with life always evolving - so are the needs of the elderly as time passes. We’ve ventured into uncharted territories many times and thankfully a quick search of an idea on Amazon and I’ve found the precise answers for what was needed. And as you know with Amazon - most of it is delivered within a day or two.

So while you may not need these items now in your life, bookmark this page or pin it on Pinterest for later. Someone in your life, family or friend, is bound to need one of these items.

1) A step to help them get in and out of the bed. I’ve ordered both of these for two of them and it’s helped tremendously.

2) Handlebars for the toilet. These have suctions on the back and it keeps the bars in place. It’s adjustable for height.

3) Lights - for when and where you need it. Both are battery operated. The taller one we take to restaurants with us frequently (pre-Covid) so they can see the menu easier. It’s a major hit and we had people approach us every time asking about it.

4) Non-slip everything. We all know how dangerous a fall can be so they best thing to do is work hard to prevent slipping anywhere, anytime. That includes while sitting, standing, and walking.

5) Mobility and convenience. These have helped tremendously (Evaluate for your loved one depending upon need and safety. Not everyone should have a walker with wheels.).

6) Carrying your things conveniently.

7) Help getting up and getting comfortable.

8) Staying within reach.

9) Seeing clearly. The handheld magnifying glass was a huge hit as well because of the light so it was frequently taken to restaurants as well!

10) Easy zip up housecoats. As we age our dexterity tends to worsen as well as mobility of arm movement, so a zip up housecoat is the perfect solution to help them have something to wear that doesn’t have to go over their head and doesn’t need to be buttoned.

All of these items have been ordered and used by our sweet little ladies. I am sure there’s a ton of other great items to help the elderly or disabled and we just haven’t needed them or stumbled upon them yet, but these have been major wins in our family.

Are there any items like this that you have needed yourself or for your family? Comment below!

XOXO
