Hello friends,

I hope your week is going well and you’re settling into 2024. So far this has been a long year and January isn’t even over yet. 😮‍💨 2024 came at me with a hard, blunt and swift kick on day one and all I can think is, REALLY? As if the past few years haven’t dealt me enough…but in the end God shows us the things we need to know, leads us where we need to go, and yanks us out of things that won’t allow us to grow.

Do you like how I rhymed there? I amused myself.

So, moving on…I thought I’d review 2023 and share ONE photo from each month to declare it as my favorite. There were many lovely moments, shared laughs, great meals, and sad moments. It was a year.

PS - I really miss my dad and Marie.

I’ll keep the captions short and sweet so that I don’t bog down your morning today.

It’s not easy to pic just one photo from each month so here are some honorable mentions.

And the best photo(s) of the year go to:

Have you reflected back over your 2023? Do you have any photos that stand out as your favorites? Some of my favorites are not the poised and edited photos, but the candid shots. Pictures are a great time capsule to preserve a moment in time. They capture time, place, people, and things, but they can also document emotions and thoughts.

Time is so fleeting and I know some are not a fan of taking many photos, but do yourself and your loves ones a favor and just take the photos. We are not perfectly airbrushed (or AI) people and at the end of the day when we’re gone our loved ones will wish we had more photos. Even if they sift through thousands of photos that won’t mean much to them, they will get tid bits of the essence of WHO YOU ARE reflected through the photos of you and the photos you take of other things. It’s something special.

OK, enough for today. Share your thoughts in the comments below!

XOXO
