Holiday Home Tour 2025

Hello friends,

It’s December and that means all things holiday. HOORAY!

This post will be photo heavy so I will keep it as short and sweet as possible. I’ve taken photos of my home decorated for Christmas. It’s Christmas in overload in my smaller, condensed space compared to years before.

My Christmas collection has grown through the years because I love this holiday so much. I’ve inherited items. I’ve purchased items. I’ve been gifted a lot of items for birthdays and holidays. And as my previous homes expanded in size I had plenty of space to display all the things and all the trees. Now, 1/3 of my holiday items are decorating the previous house (whereas last year it was about 50/50), and 2/3 of my holiday items are packed into my new home. I brought over some more things this year and we gave away some decor as well, but ultimately I still decorate the previous house and simply do not have room for all of my beloved items.

Don’t get me wrong…I would find space if I needed to. ;)

Now let’s get festive!

Welcome to my holiday home!

Entryway/Foyer:

  • I shifted the champagne tinsel tree into the foyer this year because I got a new tree for the den that you’ll see shortly. It turned out better than I anticipated as I was hesitant 1) to get an additional tree at all and 2) I loved the champagne tinsel tree with black ornaments in the den last year.

  • I love all things Christmas and most Christmas movies, but Christmas Vacation has an extra special place in my heart because it reminds me growing up and my dad laughing and quoting this movie. My dad was also a lot like Clark Griswold at times, too. ;) Through the years I’ve watched it dozens of times each holiday season to the point that I put it on as almost a soothing effect in the background sometimes. It warms my heart. Well, word gets out and I was gifted the 6 foot Clark years ago as well as the autographed framed image as well. =))) I display them with pride.

  • The white ceramic Christmas tree with colored bird lights was made (or painted?) by my great grandmother on my mom’s side and plays music. My mom handed it down to me. The vintage Santa, Mrs. Claus, and carolers were my Granny’s (on my mom’s side).

  • I had ornaments made with my niece’s names on them and decided to display them on the entryway pet console at this house along with their photos. I make a “desk plaque” through Shutterfly of their annual holiday card photo each year.

Dining/Bar Area:

  • I moved this pencil tree to the little wall in between the mudroom and den because I now have the two trees in the foyer. Everything was literally going just fine until the morning I took a photo of it and some of the lights had burned out since the night before. HA! Figures. I guess leaving the lights on all day every day and sometimes overnight might wear them out after a few years. Oh well. It will stay just as is for the remainder of the year. =)

  • I’ve been using the Christmas Vacation boxed wine decor set for 3 years now. It has 3 bottles of red wine in it and once it’s finished you can take the bag out and still use it for decor.

  • My little vintage 1957 snowman ornament in the middle of the window greenery is from an antique store in Gruene, TX. I love meandering that store when I go to Gruene. I found this guy in 2013 and had to have him!

Kitchen:

  • I still try to keep my counter decor to a minimum but let me tell you it has been difficult to not acquire more cookie jars this year for decor. I have no place to put them and do not want to line them up on the counter. But I have seen an alarming number of seriously cute ones. I even passed up purchased the Christmas Vacation (house) cookie jar from Pottery Barn because I already have the wine box version. That should tell you a little something about how I feel about no space remaining. HA!

  • A fun little PSA not everyone is aware of: You can purchase the decor items at Bath & Bodyworks. I’m talking more than just candle holders. Examples from past years: The green tree on the 2nd open shelf and the nutcracker (candleholder) on the 1st open shelf are from B&BW. The two tall vintage finials in the mix of Christmas trees on the TV console were from B&BW and they light up. The two snow globe candle holders (holding silver tree candles) are from B&BW as well and they also light up and play music (optional).

  • I did purchase the two nutcracker salt and pepper shakers from Hobby Lobby this year. I don’t know what it was about them and their colors but I needed them. And I am thrilled with how they look on my counter. It’s such a small thing but it brings me joy.

Living Room:

  • I got the new (slim) viral twinkling tree! This one is not from Home Depot as they did not have the slim version that I needed, but it’s the same and from At Home. I love it and I love the way it turned out using just the black ornaments and black velvet bows I previously used on the champagne tinsel tree. I only added a handful of silver metal tree ornaments I found at Walmart. It’s hard to see the decor in photos but I love it in person.

Mudroom & Powder Bathroom:

Upstairs Sitting Area:

  • This is my colorful area whereas downstairs is more neutral.

  • The tree on the right has a mixture of childhood ornaments of mine, my siblings, my aunt & uncle’s when they moved, and my Mammaw’s. I also have personal ornaments on there that were given to me or that I made on Shutterfly.

  • The tree on the left is my travel tree with ornaments from places I’ve been, some personal ornaments, and a few gifted ones. I realized this year I need to find ornaments online for some places I have been that I do not have ornaments for, back when I was into collecting magnets when I traveled.

  • The vintage reindeer in front of the tree and Santa (from Estes Park) on the windowsill was my Granny’s.

  • My mom made the Christmas colored afghan on the back of the sofa and my Aunt Sharon made the red and white afghan on the white chair. =)))

  • The stockings have personalized wooden name cut outs from Etsy for Lorenzo, Loretta, and Luigi. And the cute, brass reindeer candleholders tucked into the garland on the mantle are from an antique store.

Guest Bedroom 1 (Office/Gym):

Just enough festive lights to make me happy when I’m in there to exercise.

Guest Bathroom:

This really is a tiny bathroom with little counter space so I don’t add much in here. That being said, I enjoy the Christmas lights every time I walk by or down the hallway.

Guest Bedroom 2:

  • Some of these Christmas items carried over from two houses ago when I decorated a bedroom for my mom in her favorite colors. Fortunately they coordinate well enough with this bedroom’s colors as well.

  • The fabric chairs from the foyer are currently in this room and my office closet. I have little space to shift things around but the colors of the chair actually look good in here as well. ;)

  • For fun: The two snowmen were from the Dollar General way back in 2005 or 2006. While I have had to* get rid of some holiday decor through the years, it is never easy to part with any of it. Clearly I hold on to all of it that I can. =) I just try not to put too much in this guest room because one of my besties does stay with me sometimes when she comes to town and I want her to have enough comfortable space for her things.

Master Bedroom & Bathroom:

I don’t add much to my bedroom but I enjoy the glow of a small tree and when I occasionally turn on the battery operated lights around my bathroom mirror.

That’s a wrap on the holiday home tour! A few things I want to note:

1) I love the photo editing option to remove things like my body/arm from mirror photos. It’s rarely a perfect result but it sure beats me awkwardly leaning into the photo to snap a pic.

2) I absolutely love the glow of Christmas lights and looking at my decor throughout the holidays. I’ve appreciated having more trees than are reasonable because I can see one or three from most spots in my house and also see them in the reflections of the windows or mirrors. It’s magical.

3) I didn’t bog down this post by noting who gave me whichever item or honing in on ornaments I was gifted (some that were handmade, too). But, rest assured I am that crazy person who vividly remembers who gave me each and every thing I have and I think of that person every time I look at the decor item. They give me a sentimental fondness most every day.

4) Lastly, any of my gifted items that are not here at this house are decorating my previous home still. I go through the same remembrance when I’m decorating over there. Plus, should any of the items over there not be used in the future then they will make their way back “home” to me. =))) I may end up needing a storage unit. HA!

Thank you for following along. I realize posts like these may be frivolous but it makes me happy to share because I also love seeing everyone else’s decorations. There’s SO MANY themes and colors and ideas on how to decorate. I want all of it. I love all of it. I enjoy ALL of it.
